Bettina Roth has a diverse work experience in the financial services sector. Bettina currently serves as the Chief Executive at Isle of Man Financial Services Authority since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Deputy Head of Division, Banking at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority from December 2018 to September 2021.
From January 2016 to November 2018, Bettina was the Director of Supervision, Banking and Insurance at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), where they implemented a risk-based methodology and designed supervisory protocols and IT systems.
Before joining ADGM, Bettina held multiple roles at OSFI, including Managing Director of the Deposit-Taking Group, Conglomerates from April 2014 to October 2015, and Director of the same group from September 2012 to March 2014. Bettina also had a secondment with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, working on large bank supervision from September 2011 to August 2012.
Bettina's earlier experience includes serving as the Director of the Deposit-Taking Group, Non-Conglomerates at OSFI from December 2006 to August 2011. Overall, their work experience spans various roles in regulatory and supervisory positions within different organizations.
Bettina Roth holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Queen's University, which they obtained in 2006. Bettina also has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Toronto - New College, earned between 1988 and 1992. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Diploma in Islamic Finance from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2018 and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2017. Bettina also holds various other certifications, including the Certified Cryptoasset Anti-Financial Crime Specialist, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMLS), ICA Specialist Certificate in Conduct Risk, and the International Financial Reporting Standards Certificate.
