Michael Schantz

Director, Field Quality Engineering at Isuzu North America

Michael Schantz has held various roles throughout their work experience. Michael started their career in 2000 as an Owner/Operator and Truck/Trailer Builder at The Mason and Dixon Lines, Inc. where they specialized in oversize and overweight cross country loads. Michael also designed and assembled Class 8 tractors and trailers and performed modifications, assembly, and repair of heavy equipment.

In 2008, they joined SEE as a Performance Air Cooled Engine Designer/Assembler. Michael worked in this role until 2012.

From 2012, Michael worked at Isuzu North America in different positions. Michael started as a Vehicle Service/Failure Analysis Engineer, where they analyzed diesel and gasoline vehicle systems and presented data on failure trends and root causes to the home office in Tokyo. Michael then became a Manager of Port Quality Engineering, responsible for overseeing quality engineering at the port. In 2018, they were promoted to Executive Manager of Field Quality Engineering, where they managed field engineering groups and developed processes for failure investigations.

Currently, Michael holds the position of Director of Field Quality Engineering at Isuzu North America.

Michael Schantz attended Bloomington High from 1992 to 1996, but did not obtain a degree or specialize in any field during this time. Michael then attended San Bernardino Valley College from 1997 to 1999, where they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies. Following this, they enrolled at California State University-San Bernardino from 2006 to 2008, focusing on Engineering Physics/Applied Physics, but did not complete a degree. Finally, from 2008 to 2012, Michael attended California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
