Marc Tijhuis

Marc Tijhuis has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Marc is currently the Managing Director of the ISWA International Solid Waste Association, where they focus on waste reduction and environmental sustainability. Prior to this, Marc worked as the Executive Director at HealthNet TPO, a Dutch aid agency involved in restoring healthcare systems in conflict-affected areas. Marc also provided general management and organizational advice at WereldOuders and served as the Managing Director at Wereldkinderen, a child rights organization. In addition, Marc has held leadership positions at the Hartstichting, Danone, AbbVie, and worked in marketing and sales positions in the pharmaceutical industry.

Marc Tijhuis completed their secondary education at City College Emmaus Franciscus in Rotterdam between 1976 and 1982. Marc then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Chemistry at Leiden University from 1982 to 1988. In 2019, they participated in a post-graduate educational program at Wagner focused on governance for board of trustees and board members.
