Blanket Project Leader at ITER Organization

Ryan Hunt is a highly experienced mechanical engineer with expertise in fusion technology and materials. Currently serving as the Blanket Project Leader at ITER Organization since December 2014, Ryan is the technical responsible officer for critical systems related to plasma protection and neutral beam ports. Previously, Ryan worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Computational Engineer and Post-doctoral scholar, focusing on high-cycle fatigue experiments and fusion chamber design. Ryan's academic journey includes a PhD, M.S., and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, with a doctoral dissertation on diffusion bonding technology for fusion applications. Additional internships at Sandia National Laboratories provided experience in heat flux experiments and finite element simulations for the ITER program.
