Head, Economic Development, Quebec at Ivanhoé Cambridge

As head of economic development in Quebec, Élise Proulx directs Ivanhoé Cambridge's business development and investment strategy in Quebec in order to secure the organization's legacy in the province and the implementation of its dual mission of creating value for its depositors and communities. A seasoned manager with more than twenty years of experience, Ms. Proulx joined Ivanhoé Cambridge in March 2020 as Executive Vice-President, Public Affairs, Communications and Chief of Staff, where she oversaw all corporate communications. Ivanhoé Cambridge, including reputation management, public affairs, government relations and the social involvement of Ivanhoé Cambridge and its employees in the community.

Previously, Ms. Proulx held the position of Vice-President, Communications, Government Affairs and Aboriginal Relations at Hydro-Québec. Previously, she founded and ran her own public relations firm and quickly distinguished herself by her leadership, team spirit and intellectual rigor. She has advised numerous executives of public and private companies in various sectors, such as culture, luxury goods and customer service, as well as several municipalities and a regional county municipality in Quebec. Before becoming an entrepreneur, she managed the communications department of Hydro Ottawa and was a spokesperson and strategic advisor at Hydro-Québec.

In 2018, as part of the prestigious Les Mercuriades competition, the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec awarded her the Mercure in the Emerging Talent, Exceptional Woman – Large Company category, in recognition of her leadership. Ms. Proulx sits on the board of directors of the Orchester symphonique de Montréal, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and Montreal International.

Élise Proulx holds a bachelor's degree in communication (public relations) from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) as well as an Executive MBA from the School of Management Sciences at UQAM. She also obtained the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and is also a certified sommelier, for her own pleasure.
