Andrew Lamprecht

Andrew Lamprecht is a seasoned art professional with extensive experience in curatorship and academic instruction. Currently serving as the Curator of Historical Paintings and Sculpture at Iziko Museums of South Africa since July 2021, Andrew previously provided consulting services in art, heritage, and cultural curating at Bespoke from May 2020 to July 2021. Andrew’s academic career includes a significant tenure at the University of Cape Town, where roles encompassed Senior Lecturer in Discourse and Theory of Art from 2001 to May 2020, and earlier part-time lectureships and tutoring from 1993 to 2000. Andrew holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Curatorship from Rhodes University and a BA (Hons.) in African Studies from the University of Cape Town.
