We are seeking an Asphalt Plant Superintendent in the Putnam, ON area who is aspiring to reach their potential in the field of construction, reporting to the Sr. Road Building Manager.

Environment

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asphalt Plant Superintendent to oversee the operations of our asphalt production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of plant operations, including production scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, and personnel management. The Asphalt Plant Superintendent will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of asphalt materials while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.

How you will make an IMPACT

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities related to asphalt production, including mixing, heating, and loading operations.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing plant efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of safety awareness among plant personnel.
  • Oversee quality control measures to maintain product consistency and meet specifications, conducting regular inspections and testing as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, additives, and finished products, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and delivery.
  • Lead and motivate plant personnel, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to support professional development and achieve operational goals.
  • Lead and collaborates with maintenance teams to schedule and prioritize equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility upgrades to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as needed to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to plant operations, including production data, inventory records, and compliance documentation.

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract

  • Ability to manage a team

  • Ability to weld and use cutting torch is considered an asset

  • Takes responsibility and acts with integrity

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to keep accurate records
