David Lucero has worked in the engineering field since 2006. In 2006, they began working as an Engineering Intern at Generon IGS. In 2007, they moved to J&P Technologies, where they served as a Software Engineer. In this role, they supported NASA's Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) division by performing evaluations in the functional area of Systems Software for the Space Shuttle Program. David also represented S&MA in the development of CEV Orion Flight Software. David's specific assignments included performing the S&MA evaluations in the functional area of System Software for Shuttle Primary Avionics Software (PASS), Backup Flight Software (BFS) and the Multifunctional Electronic Display System (MEDS).
David Lucero obtained an Associate's degree in Mathematics from San Jacinto College between 1999 and 2002. David then attended the University of Houston from 2003 to 2008 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. In October 2007, they obtained an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. In April 2010, they obtained a First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association.
