Phillipe Wiederkehr

Phillipe Wiederkehr is a skilled research assistant currently working at Berkeley Lab since January 2023, focusing on isolating novel phages and exploring genetic mechanisms related to prophage induction and viral interference. Previous experience includes a research assistant role at Caltech during the summer of 2023, where involvement in the SURF program under Professor Richard Murray entailed designing synthetic cells for antiviral research. From August 2020 to August 2021, Phillipe served as a Research and Development Specialist at Indelible Learning, Inc., testing educational video games. Additional research experience includes a position at UCI School of Medicine from June 2019 to January 2020 under Dr. Behnoosh Afghani. Phillipe is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering at UC Berkeley College of Engineering, expected to graduate in May 2024.
