Melanie Kourbage

Melanie has over ten years of experience in coordinating team projects in a variety of settings and discipline areas. She has supported various national informatics initiatives, including the Public Health Laboratory Interoperability Project (PHLIP), the Electronic Laboratory Reporting Technical Assistance (ELRTA) Project, the Laboratory Efficiencies Initiative (LEI), the NNDSS Modernization Initiative (NMI) and the Laboratory Technical Implementation Assistance for Public Health (LTIAPH) Project. Previous partners and clients include the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), CDC, the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), and FDA. She holds certifications as an Association Project Manager (CAPM) and an HL7 Specialist.

She has developed course material and taught classes at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Eastern Oregon University on a variety of subjects. She has facilitated group discussions and organized and facilitated workgroups, including the FDA National User Group. She has ample experience integrating new technology and software programs into office systems, delivering trainings to staff and developing and maintaining an institutional knowledge base. She has also presented papers on independent research at international conferences.
