As Director of Outreach and Partnerships, Alan Royal oversees all aspects of applicant outreach and support as well as selection of recipients for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program, Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, and Young Scholars Program. This includes developing partnerships with regional and national organizations that serve high-performing, lower income students in educational access and attainment, and administering a rigorous and competitive application review process for each program. Alan joined the Cooke Foundation in 2011 as an educational adviser for the Young Scholars Program; prior to that, he worked as a college access program coordinator serving high school students in Fort Worth, TX and a middle school language arts teacher in Longview, TX. He holds a B.A. in English Literature and an M.Ed. in Curriculum Studies from Texas Christian University.
