Lauren Bradley

Director, Government & Community Relations -- California at The Jackson Laboratory

Lauren Bradley has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Lauren recently joined The Jackson Laboratory in 2021 and currently serves as the Director of Government & Community Relations for the California branch. Prior to this, Lauren was the Associate Director of Corporate Engagement at The Jackson Laboratory.

Before joining The Jackson Laboratory, Lauren co-founded and directed Cuba Skate, an international nonprofit that supports Cuba's skateboarding community through youth development, community engagement, and sustainability programs. Lauren played a key role in establishing diplomatic relationships with government officials to ensure compliance with the US-Cuba Trade Embargo.

Lauren also worked at the National League of Cities as the Program Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development, where they successfully recruited and managed key national partners. Lauren played a significant role in creating the Technology Policy Roundtable, a project involving various corporate partners such as Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Microsoft.

Prior to that, Lauren served as a Conservation and Economic Development Fellow at the Touchwood Ecological & Social Foundation, where they focused on reducing wildlife conflicts in Southern India's tiger reserves and promoting economic development through skills training and workforce development.

Lauren also worked at the American Health Care Association as a Senior Manager of Internal Operations & Special Projects, responsible for directing day-to-day operations and departmental budgeting.

Earlier in their career, Lauren served as an Assistant Office Administrator at the University of Michigan and as a Recreation Department Assistant and Fellow in the City Manager's Office at the City of Charlevoix. Lauren also gained experience as a Wedding Coordinator at Castle Farms.

Overall, Lauren Bradley brings a wide range of skills and expertise in government relations, corporate engagement, program management, and community development to their current role at The Jackson Laboratory.

Lauren Bradley has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science with a minor in International Studies from the University of Michigan, which they completed from 2007 to 2011. Lauren pursued a Semester Abroad in Ethnography at Casas de las Americas in Havana, Cuba in 2010. In 2013 to 2015, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Anthrozoology from Canisius University. Lauren also completed a Certificate Program in Data Science at UCLA from 2021 to 2022. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained several certifications, including "Explorations in Project Management" from Northeastern University and various Python-related courses from Coursera. Lauren is also a member of the Future Leaders Program (Class of 2014) from the American Society of Association Executives and has completed the Project Management Foundations Course from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. Recently, in 2023, Lauren obtained certifications in "BioBasics 101: The Biology of Biotech for the Non-Scientist," "Exploring Rare Disease Through Translational Research," and "Laboratory Mouse Basics" from Biotech Primer and The Jackson Laboratory, respectively.
