Susan Airhart

Susan Airhart has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of strategic research initiatives, business development, and molecular genetics. Susan has held roles at The Jackson Laboratory, Oncor Inc, and Baylor College of Medicine.

At The Jackson Laboratory, Susan served as the Senior Director of Strategic Research Initiatives, where they focused on increasing the translational impact of JAX basic science research and developing the Patient-derived Xenograft (PDX) research platform. Susan successfully directed teams to restructure PDX operations, redirect investment to support Precision Medicine, and secure corporate sponsored research agreements.

Prior to that, Susan worked as the Senior Director of Strategic Opportunities and Product Development at The Jackson Laboratory, where they were responsible for long-term business and product development plans. Susan oversaw the launch of the Jackson Services business plan, contributing to revenue growth from $2 million to an unspecified amount.

Before joining The Jackson Laboratory, Susan held the position of Director of Technology Transfer and Opportunity Development at The Jackson Laboratory, where they developed the business plan for off-site expansion and managed a corporate outreach program involving major pharmaceutical companies.
