Tammy Thurman-Gray has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tammy began their career in 1993 as a Communication Clerk/Dispatcher/Trainer at the Jackson Police Department, where they worked until 2000. From there, they transitioned into the field of education and worked as a Teacher at Hinds County Schools from 2000 to 2010. In 2008, they also took on the role of an Adjunct Instructor at Alcorn State University. Additionally, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Ashford University from 2010 to 2012. Since 2012, they have been employed by Jackson Public Schools, first as a Teacher (2012-2015) and currently as a 6th Grade Science/Social Studies Teacher.
Tammy Thurman-Gray completed their BBA in Business Administration and Management, General at Jackson State University. Tammy then went on to pursue their Ed.S. in Elementary Education at Alcorn State University, which they completed in 2006.
