Head Athletic Trainer at Jacksonville Icemen

Cody Marean has a diverse work experience in the field of athletic training. Cody has recently worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Jacksonville Icemen since October 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Athletic Trainer at Southern Maine Health Care from August 2022 to October 2022. Cody also gained experience as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Jacksonville University from February 2022 to April 2022. Before joining these organizations, they held the position of Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Athletic Trainer at Bridgton Academy from June 2021 to February 2022 and from June 2017 to February 2022, respectively. Cody also worked as a Minor League Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Boston Red Sox from March 2014 to September 2016, and as the Head Athletic Trainer at Saco Bay Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy from October 2015 to April 2016. Cody's career started at the University of New England where they worked as a student from 2009 to 2013.

Cody Marean graduated from the University of New England in 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Athletic Training/Trainer. Cody then obtained a certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer from the Board of Certification/Accreditation in June 2013. In October 2014, they received a Performance Enhancing Specialist certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Currently, Cody is pursuing a Masters degree in Sports Psychology at Capella University, with an expected completion in 2023.
