Basel Alsousou

Basel Alsousou has a diverse range of work experience. Basel started their career as a Data Analyst R&D at Daaboul Industrial Group from September 2009 to November 2011. Basel then moved on to AkzoNobel, where they held various roles. Basel started as an HRBP Trainee from March 2016 to September 2016, where they developed new KPIs for the HR department and implemented a Learning Management System. Basel then became a Global HR Data Quality Specialist from October 2016 to September 2017, responsible for worldwide HR data and coordinating with regional Data Quality Coordinators. Basel further progressed to become a Data Domain Expert I from September 2017 to March 2019, managing data strategies and stakeholders in the Paints division. From April 2019 to August 2020, they served as a Global Data Domain Expert II, where they managed data processes, led improvement projects, and worked closely with stakeholders and IM staff. Currently, Basel Alsousou is working at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS as the Global Master Data Manager and Head of Master Data, a role they have held since September 2020. In this position, they are responsible for managing the CMDD master data organization, ensuring compliance with governance protocols, and improving master data quality across various domains. Basel has accomplished tasks such as setting up a data governance framework and implementing standardized master data activities.

Basel Alsousou holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (Master bedrijfskunde) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, which was obtained from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree at the Higher Institute of Business Administration from 2010 to 2013. Basel also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management Information Systems from the University of Kalamoon, acquired from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, Basel has obtained several certifications, including Data Strategy: Leveraging Data as a Competitive Advantage from Emeritus in 2022, DAMA-DMBOK from Data Management Association Norway (DAMA) in 2022, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from AkzoNobel in 2020, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from AkzoNobel in 2019, and NT2 Staats examen Level B2 from Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) in 2016.
