David Coggin

David Coggin has extensive work experience in the finance and data science industries. David currently holds the position of Head of New Business Strategy at Jaja Finance, which they started in January 2022.

Before joining Jaja Finance, David worked at NewDay from 2013 to 2022. During their time at NewDay, they held several senior-level positions, including Senior Manager of Data Science, Senior Manager of Customer Underwriting Strategy, Senior Specialist of Decision Science, and Senior Decision Science Analyst.

Prior to their roles at NewDay, David worked at Experian from 2009 to 2013. At Experian, they served as a Solutions Analyst, where they project managed a Fraud Strategy solution for an automotive finance lender and developed application solutions for a mortgage lender. David also developed retail finance application scorecards for major high street retailers. Additionally, David worked as an Analyst at Experian, focusing on credit risk scoring model development in commercial sectors and contributing to fraud and affordability product developments.

David's work experience also includes a year-long placement student role at Experian's Decision Analytics department in 2007, where they gained hands-on experience with the Experian Mainframe system, Microsoft Office programs, and SAS coding.

Overall, David Coggin has a diverse background in business strategy, data science, and analytics, with a focus on finance and fraud prevention.

David Coggin attended Eckington School from 1998 to 2005, where they completed their A levels in Mathematics, Geography, and Psychology. Additionally, they earned an AS level in Physics during this time. Following their time at Eckington School, David attended Sheffield Hallam University from 2005 to 2009. At the university, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors in Mathematics, specializing in the field of study of Mathematics.
