Jim McCoy

Jim McCoy currently serves as Chief Actuary at James River Insurance Company since August 2023. Prior to this role, Jim held the position of Chief Actuary at National General Insurance from February 2018 to September 2023. Jim's experience includes working as an Experienced P&C Actuary in the New York City area and serving as Vice President and Associate Actuary at AIG from June 1997 to July 2017, focusing on various specialties including international corporate actuarial functions and medical malpractice pricing. Additionally, Jim began a career in education as a Mathematics Teacher in various NYC schools from September 1990 to June 1997. Jim holds a BA and MAT in Mathematics and Math Education from Cornell University, obtained between 1985 and 1990.
