Chief Engineer at Jan De Nul Group

Ferre De Schutter has extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Ferre started their career as an Engineering Cadet at the Antwerp Maritime Academy in 2010. Later, they joined DEME Group in 2011 as an Engineering Cadet. In 2012, they joined Jan De Nul as an Engineering Cadet before progressing to the role of 3rd Engineer from August 2013 to November 2014. Ferre then served as 2nd Engineer from November 2014 to June 2017, and subsequently as 1st Engineer from June 2017 to May 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Engineer at Jan De Nul Group, where they started in May 2023.

Ferre De Schutter earned a Bachelor's degree, cum laude, in Marine Engineering from the Antwerp Maritime Academy. Ferre attended the academy from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they studied Mathematics - Science at Sint-Pieters College Leuven from 2002 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Ferre has obtained several certifications including Chief engineer, no limitations, STCW III/2 from the Kingdom of Belgium and DP maintenance from Kongsberg Maritime. Ferre has also obtained the Opito bosiet certification from OPITO. The specific dates of when these certifications were obtained are not provided.
