Maya Smith

Maya Smith, CPA, has a strong work experience in the field of taxation. Maya is currently working as the Head of US State Tax at Janus Henderson Investors U.S. since April 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of State and Local Tax Senior Manager at Plante Moran from October 2018 to April 2019 when Plante Moran merged with their former company EKS&H. At EKS&H, Maya worked as a State and Local Tax Senior Manager from January 2017 to September 2018. Before joining EKS&H, they served as a Tax Senior Manager - Multistate Tax Services at Deloitte Tax LLP for eleven years, from January 2006 to January 2017. Maya started their career at Deloitte Tax LLP as a Federal Tax Intern from February 2005 to April 2005.

Maya Smith, CPA completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Foundations from The University of Texas at Austin. Following this, they pursued a Master's of Professional Accounting with a specialization in Taxation at the Texas McCombs School of Business from 2004 to 2005.
