Keegan Valerio

Data Scientist at J.D. Power

Keegan Valerio has a range of work experience in various fields. In 2016, Keegan worked as a Geophysics Co-op Student at Nexen, where they generated and compared regional velocity models, and interpreted seismic horizons. From 2017 to 2018, Keegan worked as an Automotive Technician at Mr. Lube Canada, where they maintained and serviced fleet and customer vehicles. In 2018, Keegan worked as a Geoscience Student at Suncor Energy, where they interpreted seismic and electromagnetic datasets and identified potential geohazards. In 2019, Keegan continued as a Geoscience Student at Suncor, focusing on offshore East Coast exploration, interpreting seismic data and creating 3D models for oil deposit predictions. From 2011 to 2020, Keegan held various roles at The City of Calgary, including Recreation Leader and Slide Monitor, where they led programs, implemented safety measures, and provided a safe and enjoyable experience for pool patrons. Currently, Keegan works as a Data Scientist at J.D. Power, starting in 2021.

Keegan Valerio has a diverse education history. From 2013 to 2019, Keegan attended the University of Calgary and obtained a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Geophysics and Seismology. In 2017, Keegan also spent a semester at The University of Manchester, continuing studies in the same field.

In 2019, Keegan received certifications in Petrel Velocity Modeling from NExT Schlumberger. In 2016, Keegan obtained a certification in Petrel Fundamentals in Geology and Geophysics, also from NExT Schlumberger. Additionally, in 2020, Keegan obtained a certification in Standard First Aid and CPR C from the Lifesaving Society Alberta and Northwest Territories.

Keegan's education continued in 2020 as they enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Keegan pursued a Master of Science degree in Analytics and completed this program in 2021.
