Brandon Ward, PsyD has a diverse work experience, starting as a Mental Health/Substance Abuse Clinician at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from August 2007 to July 2009. Brandon provided outpatient substance abuse treatment to adult veterans, including individual and group psychotherapy. Brandon then transitioned to a Therapist role at College Living Experience (CLE) from August 2008 to August 2009, where they provided therapy services to college students with developmental spectrum disorders and learning disabilities.
In 2010, Brandon joined the University of Denver in two different roles. Firstly, as an Electronic Medical Record / Database Administrator from August 2010 to January 2015, they provided consulting, customization, and maintenance for the Professional Psychology Center's EHR, trained staff, and generated custom SQL database queries/reports. Secondly, as a Clinical Program Director from August 2012 to December 2014, they managed and supervised a team of doctoral-level students in treating clients with severe mental illnesses.
From 2011 to 2013, Brandon worked as an Adjunct Professor at ITT Technical Institute, where they provided instruction and facilitated learning for students in various courses, such as Group Dynamics, Introduction to Computer Programming, Social Psychology, and Database Design and Implementation.
Starting in 2012, Brandon joined WellPower and held multiple roles. Brandon began as a Clinical Psychologist, providing assessment and psychotherapy in an integrated clinic setting, specializing in behavioral medicine intervention, anxiety spectrum disorders, and substance abuse/dependence. Brandon also had a role as a Software Developer and Quality Improvement Trainer, contributing to software development and providing training. From July 2012 to January 2015, they served as an Application Development Manager, overseeing the organization's electronic health record (EHR) implementation and acting as the lead project manager and clinical lead for a new EHR.
Additionally, Brandon worked at AllHealth Network as an Application Developer from August 2012 to January 2015, providing custom programming, configuration, and training for the company's EHR.
Their most recent position is as the Chief Innovation Officer and Vice President of Information Systems at Jefferson Center for Mental Health, which they started in January 2020. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing innovation and information systems within the organization.
Throughout their career, Brandon has demonstrated a strong background in clinical psychology, software development and implementation, as well as leadership and management skills.
Brandon Ward, PsyD, obtained their Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the same institution from 2005 to 2007. Brandon completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Religious Studies from Indiana University Bloomington from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, they hold certifications as a Licensed Psychologist from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) since 2012 and as a Certified Professional Ballroom Dance Instructor from DVIDA since 2007.
