B. Ben Baldanza is currently the Director at JetBlue Airways. Prior to this, they were with Airlines Confidential Podcast, JetBlue Airways, George Mason University, Diemacher, LLC, and Spirit Airlines.
B. was with Spirit Airlines from January 2005 to January 2016 and was their CEO and President. B. is credited with defining the ULCC (Ultra-Low Cost Carrier) sector in the Americas and trades under the NASDAQ ticker "SAVE". B. led the airline through a complete transformation of its business model and through its IPO.
From August 1999 to January 2005, Baldanza was with US Airways (now American Airlines) as their Senior VP Marketing and International. B. led the Marketing, Planning, Pricing, and International divisions of US Airways through 9/11 and the company’s first bankruptcy, prior to their merger with America West Airlines.
Baldanza has also held the positions of Chief Operating Officer with TACA from February 1997 to August 1999, Executive VP Marketing with Continental Airlines from August 1994 to December 1996, Director with UPS from August 1993 to August 1994, and Director Finance and Revenue Management with Northwest Airlines from January 1991 to August 1993.
B. Ben Baldanza received a Master of Public Administration from the Urban and Regional Planning and Transportation Economics program at Princeton University. B. also has a BA in Policy Studies and Economics from Syracuse University. In addition, they are a certified pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration with a Private Pilot license and Instrument rating.
