Deirdre Mulligan

Manager, Mitzvah Food Project at Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia

Deirdre Mulligan is the current manager of the Mitzvah Food Project at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Deirdre has held this position since July of 2022. Prior to that, they were the Senior Manager of the Mitzvah Food Program at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia from December 2005 to July 2022. In that role, they oversaw and supervised multiple food pantry sites, staffed with hundreds of volunteers and five direct reports, for food distributions to thousands of recipients annually. Deirdre also researched, applied, and tracked grants, outreach to like-minded organizations to strengthen advocacy, and database management to report out to funders in a transparent fashion.

Before their work at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Deirdre Mulligan served as a Health Education Volunteer with the Peace Corps from November 2001 to October 2004. In that role, they trained local community health workers to educate community members on basic public health, participated in country-wide vaccine campaigns, and coached woman owned businesses.

Deirdre Mulligan attended the University of North Florida, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.
