Rachel Shanken

Rachel Shanken has a diverse work experience in the nonprofit sector. Rachel began their career as an Associate at United Jewish Communities of MetroWest New Jersey in 2002 and worked there until 2003. Rachel then moved on to the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, where they worked as a Development Associate from 2005 to 2007. Rachel then joined The Jewish Federations of North America, serving as the Director of Talent Development from 2007 to 2014. Most recently, they have been working at the Jewish Family Service Agency of Vancouver as the Director of Operations since 2015.

Rachel Shanken earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jewish/Judaic Studies from The University of Texas at Austin from 1998 to 2001. From 2003 to 2005, they attended both Columbia University School of Social Work and The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) simultaneously, earning a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Jewish Studies, respectively.
