Job Summary

The Welder/Fitter III position is a vital member of the Manufacturing Team contributing to our safety culture, providing high productivity, accurate fit-welds, high quality finish welds, flexibility in assignments, and supporting continuous improvement in the following capacities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Using blueprints, tooling, fixturing, fit-weld JMS equipment to proper dimensional arrangements
  • Perform Mig and Tig welds on a variety of thicknesses, sizes, and orientations of equipment (mainly 316 and 304 SS)
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings and job travelers
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, square, etc.
  • Follow established safety and quality policies, procedures, and practices
  • Safely use overhead crane and lifting equipment
  • Maintain and complete all required documentation and electronic records

Required Qualifications

  • Independently fit up equipment of various sizes and complexities
  • Pass the GTAW vertical, 6G GTAW, FCAW vertical, 6G FCAW, SMAW vertical, GMAW vertical tests
  • Positive mindset with high energy and ability to self-manage
  • Flexible work hours (standard shift 5:00 – 3:30, M-Th. Friday and Saturday OT as required)
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Ability to constantly stoop, bend, reach and stand

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, etc…
  • Read tape measure
  • Perform mathematical calculations required for fabrication
  • Understand and comfortable adding and subtracting fractions and decimals
  • Basic tool and shop knowledge

  

Education                                                                                      

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
