Francesco Foresta

Francesco Foresta has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Francesco started their career as an apprentice at Studio Associato Energia in 2009. Later, they worked as an intern at Huawei Technologies in 2017, where they focused on implementing network architectures and cloud computing infrastructures. Francesco then joined the Università di Bologna as a research fellow, where they worked on integrating SDN controllers into OpenStack architecture and evaluating performance. Additionally, they served as a teaching assistant and designed, deployed, and integrated cloud clusters for research projects. After that, they worked at Laboratori Guglielmo Marconi as a system and network engineer, responsible for designing and implementing IP networks and systems for public and private companies. Currently, Francesco is employed at JMA Wireless, where they have held various roles, including networking system design engineer, system architect, and lead architect and manager. In these roles, they have been involved in designing cutting-edge architectures, ensuring smooth integration of software components, and leading the transition to the cloud for JMA XRAN portfolio. Throughout their career, Francesco has demonstrated expertise in areas such as virtualization, cloud, networking, security, and orchestration.

Francesco Foresta completed their education in a chronological manner. Francesco started their educational journey in 2006 at Industrial Technical Institute Luigi Bucci, where they obtained a degree as an Industrial Technical Expert in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2011.

Francesco then pursued further education at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2011 to 2015. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electronics, Computer Science, and Telecommunications Engineering.

Francesco continued their studies at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2015 to 2017, completing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Telecommunications Engineering.

In 2017, Francesco participated in an Experience Program at Beijing Language and Culture University, focusing on Chinese Language and Culture.

In addition to their formal education, Francesco obtained several certifications. Francesco achieved the Professional Engineering License from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in November 2020. Francesco also obtained the CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from The Linux Foundation in June 2021.

Francesco has further enhanced their skills through various Coursera certifications. Francesco completed courses such as Elastic Google Cloud Infrastructure: Scaling and Automation, Preparing for the Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Exam, Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Core Services, Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Foundation, Reliable Google Cloud Infrastructure: Design and Process, Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Foundations, and Google Cloud Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure. These certifications were obtained between May and July 2021.

Lastly, they obtained an IELTS certification with a C1 level from the British Council in July 2015.
