Andreas Windisch

Andreas Windisch currently serves as the Head of the Research Group at JOANNEUM RESEARCH, focusing on Intelligent Vision Applications since July 2023. As Chief Science Officer and board member of AI Austria, Andreas co-founded the Reinforcement Learning Community to foster collaboration among practitioners and explore practical applications within industry and academia. With extensive experience in academia, Andreas holds lectures in machine learning at FH Joanneum and Graz University of Technology, and engages in research as an Honorary Research Scientist at Washington University in St. Louis. Previous roles include team leader in research data science at Know-Center GmbH and staff scientist at Silicon Austria Labs. Andreas's educational background includes a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Graz and a Nanodegree in Deep Reinforcement Learning from Udacity.
