Jan Hesse is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in the field of bioanalysis and fluorescence technology. Currently serving as the Head of Research Group at JOANNEUM RESEARCH since February 2017, Jan Hesse previously led groups at the Center for Advanced Bioanalysis and Upper Austrian Research, focusing on the development of fluorescence scanners and sensitive DNA and RNA detection assays. Jan Hesse's research contributions include the SmardScout single molecule array platform for diagnostics. Holding a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Biophysics from Johannes Kepler University Linz and a Diplomphysiker degree in Physics from the University of Potsdam, Jan Hesse also has international education experience from Chalmers University of Technology and Bangor University.
