The Position We are looking for an IT Engineer to assist the Job&Talent Portugal team with all aspects related to the effective operations of our IT infrastructure locally. You will work directly with our HQ team based in Madrid, to ensure that the J&T team in Portugal can make the most of the available IT tools and systems, support in the implementation and launch of new IT tools - and solve any individual or systemic problems the team may encounter swiftly. This is a critical role as you will be the only individual overseeing all our IT infrastructure in Portugal, so you will serve as a leader locally that will interact directly with all levels of the organization and have ample room for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the IT Systems and Infrastructure (Domain Controllers (Active Directory), ESX VMware)
  • Receive user requests and track tickets from the opening of the incident to resolution and closure
  • Record reported incidents or operating anomalies
  • Process requests according to their importance, complexity, and urgency
  • Assist users, if necessary, using remote support tools
  • Computer maintenance: Configuration of PCs, printers, mobile/landline telephones
  • Securing computer workstations and data
  • Track and update hardware in the management tool
  • Provide systems support not just locally, but also in other countries

You have… 

  • System Administration experience that includes VMware
  • Good experience and understanding of  Local Area Networking including WiFi and related security concepts.
  • Experience with, or knowledge, of Google Workspace, VMware Workspace One, Carbon Black, Okta, and ITSM practices
  • Management of connectivity in server infrastructure, firewalls, switches, APs
  • Enthusiastic attitude about technology and ability to adapt to change
  • Proficiency in managing operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) through MDM solutions
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Experience in Desktop support
  • Ambitious, driven, can handle pressure, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Good automation skills or working towards this
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Fluent Portuguese
  • English professional fluency

Nice if you also have… 

  • Familiarity with VPNs, and the ability to set up and troubleshoot networks
  • Experience in OKTA administration, including managing user access and authentication
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and related applications 
  • Familiarity with Avaya phone systems
