Mark Genua

Mark Genua has a diverse range of work experience. Mark currently works at Jobs for the Future (JFF) as the Director of Solutions Design & Delivery in the Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Vice President of Career Pathways at Heights Philadelphia.

Before working at Heights Philadelphia, Mark held the position of Associate Director in the Center for Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning at Jobs for the Future. Mark provided direction and management for federal apprenticeship contracts and grants, assisted employers and stakeholders with technical apprenticeship support, and identified resources to expand apprenticeship programs.

Mark also worked as the Director of Apprenticeship Strategies at Philadelphia Works, where they focused on increasing and aligning pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs in the Greater Philadelphia region. Additionally, they served as a Business Partnership Specialist at the Philadelphia Youth Network, cultivating relationships with employers and managing workforce development programs for underserved populations.

Earlier in their career, Mark worked as a Business Development Manager at the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation, providing youth with job opportunities and assisting businesses seeking contracting opportunities. Mark also held intern positions at the Midwood Development Corporation, Housing Nantucket, Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation, and Tufts University.

Mark Genua obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University, which they completed from 2007 to 2010.
