Senior Director, Strategic Communications at Jobs for the Future

Patty Reinert Mason has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Patty began their career as an Environment Reporter at The News in Mexico City in 1986 and later worked as an Environment/Health Reporter at The Brownsville Herald. In 1988, they joined the Associated Press as a Reporter/Editor before moving on to The Daily Record as a Legal Affairs Writer/Editor in 1990.

In 1995, Patty transitioned to the Houston Chronicle, where they served as an Assistant State Editor and later became a National Correspondent. As a National Correspondent, they covered a wide range of significant events, including presidential press conferences, political conventions, and the September 11 terrorist attacks. Patty also reported from Havana, Cuba, during President Carter's visit with Fidel Castro.

Patty's next career move was to the National Archives Foundation in 2008, where they initially worked as a Senior Editor before being promoted to the role of Director of Communications/Publications. In this position, they played a pivotal role in promoting the National Archives Museum through media outreach and managed the production of various publications and electronic products.

From 2014 to 2018, Patty joined Hobsons as the Director of Communications. During their time there, they led the multimedia strategy to promote the Hobsons brand in the education technology sector. Patty also played a key role in brand building through collaborations with the Brand/Design team and contributed to major editorial projects and media outreach efforts.

Following their tenure at Hobsons, Patty joined Strada Education Network in 2018, initially as the Director of Content and later as the Senior Director of Strategic Communications. In these positions, they worked on developing comprehensive communications strategies and messaging to support the organization's mission of improving education-career connections for individuals. Patty also led efforts in content creation, including the production of the "Lessons Earned" podcast.

Most recently, in 2022, Patty joined Jobs for the Future (JFF) as the Senior Director of Strategic Communications, where they continue to contribute their expertise in developing communication strategies and thought leadership to help more people enhance their lives through education-career connections.
