Ricardo Chavez

Flight Test Aircraft Engineer at Joby Aviation

Ricardo Chavez has a diverse range of work experience. In 2016, they worked as a math tutor at South County Cal-SOAP. The following year, in 2017, they served as the Chassis Lead at Chameleon Engineering. In 2018, Ricardo worked as an EPIC Engineering Camp Counselor for Cal Poly Corporation. In 2019, they were an EPIC Lab Instructor and Field Engineer Intern for Cal Poly Corporation and Light Manufacturing, respectively. In 2020, Ricardo became a Board Member for Cal Poly Associated Students, Inc. Ricardo also worked as an EPIC Virtual Engineering Camp Counselor for Cal Poly Corporation during the same year. In 2021, Ricardo was a Redbull Air Racing Manufacturing Apprentice, where they contributed to various projects involving carbon fiber manufacturing, sandblasting, and aircraft engine installation. Ricardo'smost recent work experience is with Joby Aviation, where they started as a Flight Test Engineer Intern in August 2022 and then transitioned to their current role as a Flight Test Aircraft Project Engineer in December 2022.

Ricardo Chavez's education history demonstrates a strong focus on Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Ricardo first attended Allan Hancock College from 2015 to 2018, where they completed their Engineer's Degree. Following this, they transferred to San Diego State University in 2018 and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Finally, from 2019 to 2022, Ricardo attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they continued their studies in Aerospace Engineering.
