Sam Russell has accumulated extensive work experience in the field of engineering and software development. Beginning in 2008, Sam worked as an Engineering Intern at ATK Launch Systems, Inc., where they provided mechanical engineering support for the final assembly process of Solid Rocket Motors and played a key role in ensuring manufacturing outcomes through the development of specifications and instructional documentation. In 2009, they continued their internship at ATK Launch Systems, Inc., where they coordinated testing and evaluation of process changes for Shuttle flight hardware assembly.
In 2010, Sam joined Lockheed Martin Procerus Technologies as a Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer, later assuming the role of Mechanical Engineer, Sr. during their tenure. They held this position until 2016, contributing to the company's expertise in guidance, control, and mechanical engineering.
Afterward, Sam worked at The GApp Lab as a Mobile Application Developer in 2016 and later joined Anki as an AI Software Engineer. They also served as a Software Engineer - Independent Contractor at Anki, showcasing their versatility in software development. Prior to these roles, Sam gained experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Anki and held the position of Flight Simulation & Flight Systems Software Engineer at Joby Aviation, starting in 2021.

Sam Russell has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, which was obtained from Texas A&M University. This degree was earned between 2006 and 2010. Additionally, Sam holds a Master's degree in Entertainment Arts & Engineering from the University of Utah, which was completed between 2015 and 2017.
