Kara Boyd

Kara Boyd's work experience includes a role as a Researcher PhD Student at the John Innes Centre, where they are involved in a project focused on genetic resistance to the Downy Mildew pathogen in peas. Kara utilizes wet lab and bioinformatic techniques to uncover resistance genes and develop tools for breeders. Kara also worked as a Scientist and Research Assistant at ikarovec, where they gained further scientific experience. Additionally, they have held positions as a Medical Secretary at the Northern Specialist Centre, a Receptionist and Administrator at the Wootton Vale Healthy Living Centre, and a Medical Receptionist at Flitwick Surgery. Kara has also been involved in leadership roles, serving as the Treasurer and Sports Secretary of the Biology Society at the University of Nottingham. Furthermore, they have previous experience as a Sales Assistant at Debenhams.

Kara Boyd pursued a Master's degree in Biology, General at the University of Nottingham from 2014 to 2018.
