Simon Winch

Simon Winch serves as Head of Environment at John Lewis Partnership since September 2021, overseeing climate change, biodiversity, water stewardship, and circular economy initiatives. Prior to this role, Simon was a Trustee at the Campaign for National Parks from November 2019 to November 2022, focusing on impact campaigning and charity governance. As Sustainability Manager at Virgin from June 2019 to September 2021, responsibilities included implementing a science-based net zero roadmap for the Virgin group. Simon led Veganuary as Chief Executive from August 2017 to March 2019, significantly increasing revenue and promoting sustainable dietary choices globally. Previous positions include Environmental Performance Manager at Yorkshire Housing, Programme Manager at Yorkshire Energy Partnership, Sustainability Officer at Corby Borough Council, and Education Sector Director at Change Agents UK. Simon began a career in sustainability with an internship at Friends of the Earth after earning a BSc(hons) in Environmental Science from Newcastle University.
