Nicole Pettas

Nicole Pettas is an experienced researcher currently working at Johns Hopkins University as an Undergraduate Researcher since 2015, focusing on optogenetic technology in animal models to study the dopaminergic reward pathways related to addictive behaviors. Simultaneously, Nicole has been involved with the Yale University School of Medicine's Rheumatology Department, conducting surface and intracellular CyTOF analysis on the effects of Lyme Disease and isolating peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Nicole holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Connecticut School of Medicine (2018-2022) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from The Johns Hopkins University (2014-2018), having completed high school at Hopkins School (2008-2014).
