Marko Zimic

Undergraduate Researcher

Marko Zimic currently serves as a URECA Researcher at Stony Brook University, focusing on advanced surface nanostructures to enhance antibacterial properties under the guidance of Tadanori Koga, PhD. Previous research experience includes investigating biofouling mechanisms and designing nanopatterned surfaces while collaborating with Maya Endoh, PhD, and Tadanori Koga, PhD. Marko also works as a Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician at Middle Country Endocrinology, performing various medical procedures and managing patient communications. An ECO Researcher position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is scheduled for May 2024, targeting biotic-abiotic interactions in materials design. Marko is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical and Molecular Engineering from Stony Brook University. Prior education includes a high school diploma from Stuyvesant High School and coursework at Columbia University.
