Tad Berkery is an experienced intern and researcher currently working with the Washington Nationals in the Baseball Research & Development department since June 2023. Prior to this role, Tad has held various internships, including a research position at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where enhancement of the iCARE model for disease risk estimation was undertaken. As a member of the JHU Sports Analytics Research Group, Tad leads a project analyzing the impact of faceoffs on hockey game outcomes and collaborated with the Baltimore Orioles to develop a batted ball clustering algorithm. Additional experience includes creating a Python-based COVID-19 simulation and working as a data analyst for &pizza on a cloud-based data integration project. Tad's early career also includes an internship in the M.S. Data Analytics Program at George Mason University and a project intern role with the University of Maryland Big Ten Women's Softball team. Tad is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University, expected to graduate in May 2024.
