Richard Johns

Richard Johns is the current Chief of Funding at Mosaic. Prior to joining Mosaic, Richard served as the Executive Director & CEO of the Structured Finance Association from January 2013 to December 2018. During their time at the helm of the organization, Richard was responsible for recruiting the organization's first executive director following the collapse of the previous industry organization, American Securitization Forum (ASF). Richard led the focus on delivering policy value and representing all sides of the industry, including banks, issuers, and investors. Additionally, they managed a multi-million-dollar P&L and staff of 23.

During their time with the Structured Finance Association, Richard was responsible for building SFIG from concept to maturity and establishing its reputation as an authoritative organization. Richard also testified to Congress 3 times regarding market liquidity and mortgage reform. Under their leadership, annual revenue increased by $11M+ in 5 years and the organization grew from 5 investor members to 76 investor companies, representing 75% of all industry. Additionally, Richard expanded activities into China and designed and launched the highly regarded Women in Securitization program. Richard also initiated and co-authored "Applying Blockchain in Securitization: Opportunities for Reinvention".

Richard Johns graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Manchester. Richard went on to receive certification from ICAEW as a Chartered Accountant.
