Software Engineer at Propel

Katie Stinebruner is a software engineer who currently works at Propel. Prior to their current position, they worked as a senior software engineer at MITRE from March 2019 to October 2019. In their role at MITRE, Katie provided software design and development expertise for multiple projects, with a focus on rapid prototyping, wargaming, and mission-focused experimentation to meet the needs of government sponsors. Katie developed primarily in JavaScript, C++, and C#, interfacing with multiple simulation engine APIs. Katie also coordinated Lightning Talks for their department and attended MITRE Institute courses to expand their knowledge. Katie was promoted after 1.5 years and received multiple individual and team awards.

From August 2017 to March 2018, Katie worked as a software engineer at MITRE, providing software design and development expertise for multiple projects focused on rapid prototyping and wargaming to meet government sponsors’ needs.

Katie began their career as a software development engineering intern at The MITRE Corporation from August 2015 to December 2016. Katie then worked as a clerk at Bear Necessities from June 2015 to February 2016. Finally, Katie completed an internship at the Bioimaging Lab at the University of Louisville in summer 2014.

Katie Stinebruner graduated from North Oldham High School with an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.43. Katie then went on to study computer science at Cornell University, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree.
