Mike Garris

Mike Garris has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mike currently serves as the Head of Debit Operations at Propel, where they are responsible for leading and scaling operations for new fintech businesses. Prior to this, Mike was a Member of the Operators Guild.

Before joining Propel, Mike worked at Oxygen as the VP of Operations and Risk Strategy from August 2019 to October 2020. Mike was responsible for developing and implementing operational and risk strategies.

From November 2016 to August 2019, Mike held the position of Director of Risk Operations at Mosaic, the largest lender for residential solar in the U.S. Mike was recruited by the COO to lead Loan Operations during a period of rapid growth.

Mike also worked at Prosper Marketplace from July 2015 to November 2016 as the Head of Operations Innovation in the Corporate Development Team. Mike led process and technology improvements for Prosper's Operations organization and supported the COO with strategic planning.

Earlier in their career, Mike worked at Bank of America from July 2008 to July 2015. Mike completed rotations in various businesses and managed cross-functional process improvement initiatives, particularly in mortgage lending. Mike was also part of the Leadership Development Program at Bank of America.

Before entering the corporate world, Mike served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia from May 2003 to July 2005. Mike initiated community development projects through cultural immersion and relationship building.

Mike Garris has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of St Andrews, which they earned from 1997 to 2002. Mike then pursued further education at the University of Michigan, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Mike completed their studies at the University of Michigan from 2005 to 2008.
