Jose Rivas

Jose Rivas currently serves as an Instructor at the Joint Special Operations University since 2023 and will be a Fellow for career transition support at The Honor Foundation from January 2024 to May 2024. Rivas has extensive experience in the US Army, holding positions such as Operations Sergeant Major from January 2021 to June 2023, and various roles including 1SG, Operations Sergeant, and Special Operations Civil Affairs Medic prior to that. Additionally, Rivas worked as an Operations Manager for Special Operations Command South in 2016-2017. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness from New England College (expected completion in 2024), a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Communications from Excelsior University, an Associate of Arts from Fayetteville Technical Community College, and a high school diploma from the High School of Graphic Communication Arts.
