Erika Feurtado

Erika Feurtado is an accomplished literacy coach currently at Joyful Readers since August 2025, with prior experience as a teacher at The School District of Philadelphia from July 2023 to September 2025. Erika's professional background includes a role as a social media communications representative for the U.S. Department of Labor, focusing on education for underserved communities and financial wellbeing for Gen Z, as well as internships at iHeartMedia and Alabama Public Radio. Erika gained valuable experience as a program coordinator for the InSports Foundation and held several administrative positions while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Information Studies from The University of Alabama. Currently, Erika is advancing education with a Master of Science Education in Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, expected in May 2025.
