Markus Dammann has an extensive work experience spanning from 2012 to 2021. In 2012, they began as an International Public Policy Consultancy Trainee at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. In 2014, they became a Heinz Nixdorf Trainee at Chengdu Urban Rivers Association (CURA) and Defensible Polis (Shenzhen) Ltd., where they closed an analysis and evaluation report for a WWF and National Geographic Eco-village project, acted as an international liaison and fundraiser for an environmental NGO, and conceptualized an urban renewal strategy for a neglected historical inner-city district in Wuhan. In 2015, they were a Foreign Language Teacher at International Institute of Education, where they gave courses on English and German as a foreign language for Chinese students and conducted intercultural communication trainings for Chinese businesspersons. In 2017, they were a Research Assistant at the Berlin Institute of Technology (Technische Universität Berlin), Center for Technology and Society. In 2018, they were a Business Development Student Staff at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Vietnam and a DAAD Research Scholar at Vietnamese-German University. In 2019, they were a Planning Consultant at Defensible Polis (Shenzhen) Ltd., where they co-developed a proposal for a masterplan for a new smart city of 80 km2 and 350k inhabitants in the center of China. In 2020, they were a Business Development Manager at Segway Discovery and a Consultant at Levitator.org, where they conducted market research and analysis about E-Moped Sharing and E-Scooter Sharing in EU as well as the Micro Mobility Market in Africa for customers in the industry and authored a company White Paper. Currently, they are a Vehicle Partner Manager at Joyride.

Markus Dammann began their education in 2004 when they attended Staatliche Fachoberschule Regensburg, where they earned their Fachhochschulreife in 2006. In 2009, they began their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) at The Berlin School of Economics and Law, which they completed in 2012. In 2011, they completed an exchange term at Universidade de Fortaleza in International Economics. In 2014, they studied Chinese Language and Literature at Shandong University of Finance and Economics. Finally, in 2015, they began their Master of Science (MSc) in Urban Development at Technische Universität Berlin, which they completed in 2018.
