Emanuel Schmid-Siegert has a diverse work experience in the field of life sciences and bioinformatics. Emanuel started their career as a Diploma student at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2003 and completed their role in 2008. Emanuel then joined the Université de Lausanne as a PhD student from 2008 to 2013, where they conducted research on lipid peroxidation in Arabidopsis thaliana and also taught undergraduate students in molecular and biochemistry techniques.
In 2013, Schmid-Siegert became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, where they worked on various life science projects, ranging from plants to pathogens. Emanuel'sresponsibilities included analyzing and interpreting Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, as well as managing smaller projects. Emanuel later transitioned to the role of a Computational Scientist at the same institute from 2015 to 2019.
Since 2019, Schmid-Siegert has been working at JSR Life Sciences, initially as a Bioinformatics Scientist from August 2019 to January 2022. Emanuel then assumed the position of Head of Discovery in September 2021.
Overall, Schmid-Siegert's work experience demonstrates their expertise in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and project management across various sectors in the life sciences industry.
From 2004 to 2008, Emanuel Schmid-Siegert attended Universität Erlangen, where they obtained a Diplom in Biology. Following this, from 2008 to 2013, they pursued further education at the University of Lausanne - UNIL, earning a Doctor in Life Sciences with a specialization in Plant Molecular Biology.
