Sage Kirk has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. They started their career in 2012 as a Customer Service Representative at Staples and worked there until 2015. In 2016, they worked at Anchor Eatery as a Front End staff member, followed by a position as a Student Nurse at Kingston General Hospital in the Geriatric Unit.
From 2017 to 2018, Sage continued their nursing education and worked in various departments at Kingston General Hospital, including Maternal Child, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatric Units. During this time, they gained experience in providing care, administering medications, and creating treatment plans for patients.
In 2017, Sage also worked at Shylo Nursing and Home Healthcare as a Home Care provider. In 2018, they took on a role as a Student Nurse at Kingston Interval House, where they contributed to creating a program for survivors of domestic violence, including hosting cooking lessons and creating a cost-effective cookbook.
In 2019, Sage joined Vancouver Coastal Health as a Student Nurse in the Medical Surgical Unit, where they completed a 400-hour practicum and developed skills in managing complex patients and performing various procedures. They also worked at Providence Health Care as a Cardiovascular Surgical Nurse and General Medicine RN, gaining expertise in these specialties.
Recently, in 2022, Sage worked at Juna as a Content Marketing Lead, responsible for managing the company's social media channels. Currently, they are employed as a Registered Nurse at Harrison Healthcare, starting in 2023. Overall, Sage has built a strong foundation in nursing while also gaining valuable experience in customer service, marketing, and program development.
Sage Kirk completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Queen's University from 2015 to 2019. They specialized in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. In addition to their degree, Sage has obtained several certifications. In November 2018, they completed the Safe Food Handler Training from KFL&A Public Health. In September 2017, they received training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention from the Crisis Prevention Institute. In January 2022, they completed the HIV Prevention course at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. Most recently, in January 2023, Sage obtained certification in Immunization competency from the BCCDC Foundation for Public Health. Additionally, they have received Healthcare Provider CPR/AED and First Aid Combo training from the Canadian Red Cross in March 2023.
