About your role

As an Information Security Engineer at Juniper Square, you’ll have an opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of information security. You will have the chance to improve security tools and processes, identify threats, detect incidents and deliver effective response/remediation. Together, with our growing team, we will work to reduce information security risk across the company.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a hands-on, technical security generalist for this role. Someone with a breadth and depth of experience across multiple areas of security. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Build and monitor security tools
  • Incident detection and response
  • Threat hunting
  • Remediation and forensics
  • Develop, train and monitor best security practices including application, infrastructure, and endpoint security, vulnerability management, system configuration, and monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technology related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of IT security experience with at least 2 years beyond an analyst role as a security engineer
  • Security certification (CISSP, CISM, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of security best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Expert knowledge and experience with SIEM, MDR, XDR, EDR
  • Extensive experience in incident response
  • Extensive experience writing custom detections
  • Strong knowledge in SAAS security, endpoint protection, and malware analysis
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of bash and or python scripting
  • Strong knowledge of security and compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS or GCP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, service and resolution skills
  • Ability to be on-call

Compensation

Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $225,000 and the Canada base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $210,000. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
