Derek Santana has extensive work experience in the finance and investment industry. Derek is currently working at K1 Investment Management as the Director of Pricing & Monetization Strategy. Prior to this role, they held positions at the same company as a Senior Manager and Manager in the Pricing & Monetization Strategy department. Before joining K1 Investment Management, Derek worked at Acertitude as the Head of Competitive Research for Private Equity. Derek began their career at CME Group as an Analyst in the Globex Strategy Group.

Derek Santana completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with a minor in Business, at Northwestern University from 2007 to 2011. During their time there, they also attended FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2010 with a focus on Emerging Markets, though they did not obtain a specific degree. In 2014, Derek Santana pursued a Specialist Certificate Program at Berklee College of Music, which they completed in 2017. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Certified Product Manager (CPM) certification from Pragmatic Institute in April 2022. Derek also received a Specialist Certification from Berklee College of Music in August 2017.
