Nicole van der Hoeven

Nicole van der Hoeven has a diverse range of work experience in the field of performance testing. Nicole currently works as a Senior Developer Advocate (Performance Testing) at Grafana Labs, where they are responsible for using the k6 tool to improve software reliability and performance. Prior to this, they worked as a Performance Test Consultant at Tricentis, helping customers utilize cloud technology for load testing their applications. Before joining Tricentis, Nicole worked at Accenture the Netherlands as a Test Engineering Associate Manager, where they provided performance testing consultancy services to various projects. Nicole also gained experience as a Performance Test Analyst at Tabcorp, where they contributed to building a performance testing practice. Earlier in their career, Nicole worked as a Senior Technical Test Analyst at Planit Software Testing, taking on solo assignments and educating customers on performance testing. Nicole also worked as a Functional Test Analyst and later as a Performance Tester at Access Testing Pty Ltd, developing their skills in both functional and performance testing. Nicole's career began at Jetstar Airways, where they started as a Technical Records Supervisor/Test Analyst and eventually became the supervisor of the department. Nicole also gained experience as a Data Analyst and Junior Test Analyst at Intrinsic Technology, applying their econometrics and data analysis background to the field of testing. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Analyst at EnergyOpt, Inc. through which they gained early experience in data analysis.

Nicole van der Hoeven began their education at PAREF Woodrose School, where they completed their primary and secondary education from 1992 to 2003. Following this, they attended Ateneo de Manila University from 2003 to 2008, earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics. In 2005, they briefly attended the University of the Pacific but was unable to complete their Bachelor's degree in Psychology due to relocation. Additionally, Nicole has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including being a Certified Agile Tester from iSQI GmbH and a Professional Scrum Master - I from Scrum.org, both obtained in September 2017. Nicole also holds the title of Accredited Integration Specialist for LoadRunner v.11 from Hewlett Packard, obtained in September 2012, and ISTQB Certified Test Analyst (Foundations Exam) from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board, obtained in December 2011.
